Carson Campaign Staffer in Accident
OMAHA, Neb – People are well aware of who Presidential candidate Ben Carson is, but his campaign staff remains largely unknown. It’s fair enough. These people work behind the scenes to make the candidate look good and get that person’s name into the minds of the masses. It stands to reason that many people have not heard of Braden Joplin outside of the 25-year-old’s circle of friends and family.
Sadly, it was Joplin who was killed in an accident in Omaha, Nebraska earlier this month.
According to reports, Joplin was a student at Texas Tech and from Midland, Texas. Carson was in South Carolina at the time of the accident.
The accident occurred on an icy road in Nebraska. The van that Joplin was riding in lost control, slid on the road and overturned. The van was then struck by another vehicle. Others in the van were treated at a local hospital.
A spokesperson from Texas tech said, “The loss of life, especially one of our own, is always tragic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Braden during this difficult time.”
Ted Cruz also released a statement, saying, “We know the Carson campaign is focused on their health and our safety and we hope they have a swift recovery, and we hope that others lift them up in health as well.”
