News: Motorcyclist reportedly hurt after trying to pass on shoulder

AUSTIN, TX – A motorcyclist was likely injured during a collision with another vehicle in northwest Austin last week, according to MyAccidentReport. The crash occurred on N FM 620, in the Oaks neighborhood, at 3:50 p.m. Friday, when the operator of a black 2019 KTM motorcycle attempted to pass on the right shoulder. The front right of the motorcycle collided with the back right of a blue 2010 Nissan operated by a 36-year-old woman.   The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man who was reportedly unlicensed, sustained what authorities believe to be minor injuries. News: APD identifies man killed in pickup vs. truck crash on Feb. 21

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Police Department has released the identity of a man who died after he crashed head-first into an 18-wheeler on I-35 last month. This is an update to a previous story. Austin Police reports that 67-year-old Jose Rufino Cortez De Paz was killed on February 21 at about 2:35 a.m. in the 10300 block of I-35 N. Cortez De Paz was driving a maroon 1989 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck against the direction of traffic when he collided head-on with a black 2006 Peterbilt 18-wheeler. He died at the scene.
