How to Assist Flood Victims in Austin

AUSTIN, TX – People in Austin and other areas of Texas have experienced extreme flooding. These floods have ruined homes, vehicles, and property. If you want to provide aid to these victims, you may be wondering how. Anyone who wants to help Central Texas flood victims can do so safely through these agencies.

American Red Cross of Central Texas
You can make a donation through the American Red Cross using your debit or credit card in several ways. The organization accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Donate through phone by calling (800) 928-4271.

Automatically donate $10 by texting REDCROSS to 90999. Your donation will go to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief.

Austin Disaster Relief Network
Anyone who is interested in helping flood victims can do so through the Austin Disaster Relief Network. The organization is raising donations and has established a public and victim hotline at (512) 806-0800.

All funds that are raised will be turned into gift cards and distributed directly to families impacted by the floods.

Warehouse
You can donate tangible items at 1905 S. Capitol Texas Highway in Austin. Donations of socks, underwear, sponges, hygiene products, brooms, gloves, first aid kits, new pillows, new blankets, and other items are being accepted.

Hope Family Thrift Store
Donations are being taken at Hope Family Thrift Store at 1122 E. 51st St. in Austin. You can make a donation Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you have time to volunteer, the thrift store has a need for people that are willing to receive donations and further assist families.

Salvation Army
Make a donation online or send a check to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1000, Austin, TX 78767.

The Salvation Army is not currently accepting tangible goods.

United Way
