On August 5, a group of state, county, and city leaders convened to consider a fundamental problem that Austin faces—drunk driving. Disappointing Grand Jury Decision in ATXHipsters Case

Wade Atwood Earlier this week, the Travis County Grand Jury weighed in on the case of Kelly Noel, an Austin blogger known as AtxHipsters who was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Wade Atwood, the driver, was arrested for DWI that night. Our law firm had the honor of representing Kelly’s parent in a civil case related to his wrongful death. Atwood, depending on the July 22 grand jury decision, stood to face either indictment for intoxication manslaughter or a much less severe charge of misdemeanor. On July 28, Adam Loewy joined family and friends of Larry Jackson Jr. at a moving vigil to commemerate the 1-year anniversary of his murder by Charles Kleinart, a former member of the Austin Police Department. Adam Loewy Appears on KVUE and KEYE to Discuss TASER Case

The Loewy Law Firm is very honored to represent Noe Nino de Rivera, a 17 year old who was unjustifiably TASED by a Bastrop Sheriff Deputy last November at Cedar Creek High School. As a result of the TASING, Noe fell back and slammed his head on the ground and sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury. Recently, the Bastrop Sheriff’s Office released video of an interview and walk-through with officers Randy McMillan and Timothy Stalcupp, who were at the scene.
