News: Man hospitalized, dog hurt in apartment fire on Poquito St

AUSTIN, TX – A man was hospitalized and a dog was injured as a result of an apartment fire on Poquito Street this afternoon, according to information from Austin-Travis County EMS.

The incident happened at an apartment at 1147 Poquito St near Rosewood Avenue in Central East Austin at 1:32 p.m.

An adult victim was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center for the treatment of possibly serious injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.

A dog also received oxygen treatment for smoke inhalation injuries and was then returned to its family.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately available.
