News: One dead after pickup truck and 18-wheeler collide on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed when an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck collided on I-35 this weekend, according to KXAN and the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash occurred in the 10300 block of N I-35 southbound at 2:41 a.m. Authorities believe the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck may have been traveling in the wrong direction on the highway.

One adult was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not immediately released.

I-35 was closed between Braker Lane and Rundberg Lane and was diverted onto the frontage roads. Austin Police advised travelers to stay clear of the area in order to avoid traffic delays.
