News: Pedestrian dead after being run over by DPS Trooper, truck near Capitol
AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian was killed after being run over by a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper and a truck near the Capitol building early this morning, according to KXAN and the Austin-Travis County EMS.

The accident happened near Colorado Street and W. 13th Street at 3:46 a.m.
Despite CPR attempts by medical personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. They were not immediately identified.
ATCEMS advised travelers to avoid the area and to expect extended road closures near the scene of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
