News: Thousands left without power after 18-wheeler crashes into power poles in E Austin
AUSTIN, TX – Thousands of people were left without power after an 18-wheeler truck crashed into multiple power poles in East Austin this afternoon, according to the Austin Fire Department and KVUE News.
The collision happened near the intersection of Webberville Road and Bedford Street at about 12 p.m., when an 18-wheeler truck collided with multiple utility poles.
Around 3,600 customers with Austin Power were left without electricity as a result of the collision.
It is unclear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured as a result.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
