News: Two people killed after Jeep crashes into semi-truck and catches fire

SAN MARCOS, TX – Two people were killed after a Jeep collided with the back of an 18-wheeler in a fiery collision north of San Marcos this weekend.

According to a report by KXAN, the accident happened between San Marcos and Kyle on I-35, near mile marker 208, at about 10:25 p.m.

A 2014 Jeep crashed into the back of a semi-truck that had pulled off the side of the road near a weigh station, and then the car burst into flames.

The two occupants of the Jeep died as a result of the fiery crash.

The truck driver was not reported as hurt.

Authorities are currently investigating if speeding or intoxicated driving may have played an influence in the accident.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, pending family notification.
