News Update: 51-year-old ID’d as victim of fatal truck accident on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities have identified the truck driver who died after part of his vehicle fell from the upper level of the interstate earlier this month, according to KXAN.

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Michael Jay Moore, who died at 1:39 a.m. on February 4 after the cab of his truck fell from the upper deck of I-35.

Moore reportedly collided with a guardrail, and the impact caused the 18-wheeler’s trailer and cab to separate. The trailer portion rolled over, and the cab crashed onto the lower level of the interstate.

Moore died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
