News update: APD ID’s victim killed in Mar. 25 truck accident on Tuscany Way

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have released the identity of a man killed in a truck accident last week in northeast Austin, near the Walnut Creek Business Park.

The crash, which occurred in the 9000 block of Tuscany Way at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, took the life of 28-year-old Armando Garcia-Sanchez.

Garcia-Sanchez, who was operating a brown 2013 Honda Pilot, crashed into an orange 2009 Volvo semi-truck. He died at the scene.

The report does not mention the victim, whom the Austin-Travis County EMS said was taken to the hospital with serious and possibly life-threatening wounds.

The truck driver was not physically hurt.

The accident, which is the city’s 22nd fatal crash of 2021, remains under investigation.
