News update: Two women injured in 18-wheeler accident on SH-71 in Del Valle

DEL VALLE, TX – Two people were injured in a collision with an 18-wheeler on State Highway 71 on Thursday afternoon, according to information from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

This is an update to a previous news story.

The collision happened at 12:26 p.m. in Dell Valle on SH-71, near Ross Road, when a 73-year-old woman driving a gray 2019 Ford changed lanes while it was unsafe to do so. The right side of her vehicle was then struck by the front of a maroon 1995 Kenworth truck being driven by a 25-year-old man.

The female driver and her 55-year-old female passenger suffered possible injuries in the crash.

The truck driver was not injured.
