On August 5, a group of state, county, and city leaders convened to consider a fundamental problem that Austin faces—drunk driving. Previously, we’ve discussed the need for both normative and enforced change in regards to drunk driving in Austin. We have seen far too many tragedies, such as the death of local blogger AtxHipsters, in which drunk driving has been the cause of life-changing injuries or death. Unfortunately, Austinites often have a careless attitude when it comes to drinking and driving. We are surrounded by amazing music, nightlife, and events: all too often this live-in-the-moment mentality extends itself to,… Read More
The Loewy Law Firm is proud to acknowledge our Managing Paralegal, Michelle Pierce, for being recognized by the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas. In order to receive this award, paralegals have to spend at least fifty hours providing legal services for those in need. These services… Read More
Wade Atwood Earlier this week, the Travis County Grand Jury weighed in on the case of Kelly Noel, an Austin blogger known as AtxHipsters who was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Wade Atwood, the driver, was arrested for DWI that night. Our law firm had the honor of representing Kelly’s parent in a civil case related to his wrongful death. Atwood, depending on the July 22 grand jury decision, stood to face either indictment for intoxication manslaughter or a much less severe charge of misdemeanor. Unfortunately, the Grand Jury cleared Atwood of the more serious charge of intoxication… Read More

He brutally beat Larry, breaking his ribs and perforating his colon, and then murdered him by putting his gun to the… Read More
The Loewy Law Firm is very honored to represent Noe Nino de Rivera, a 17 year old who was unjustifiably TASED by a Bastrop Sheriff Deputy last November at Cedar Creek High School. Recently, the Bastrop Sheriff’s Office released video of an interview and walk-through with officers Randy McMillan and Timothy Stalcupp, who were at the scene. McMillan and Stalcupp claim that Noe was acting violent but both eyewitness and security video footage dispute these accounts. KVUE, KEYE… Read More
